A Letter To My Aunt's Poodle, Georgie

It has been over a year since we've been blessed with this spunky Snuggle of a poodle!

Dear Georgie Porgy,

Hi, Snuggle! How's our little jumping bean ballerina doing? I'm sorry that this letter has been very late, especially since we actually got you the same day we found Be-Be as a young, skinny six-month-old kitty, just eight years beforehand (how freaky is that), but hopefully, this will wrap up the month of November before the Christmas season really goes into full swing next month…

It has been over a year since my aunt (your mom) and my mom (your aunt) brought your spunky, mushy self to our home! As soon as he saw you, my cousin JJ was so happy to see you as his surprise gift! I'm sure you remember that he already met you not too long beforehand when my aunt was crafting the perfect surprise. She knew, from the moment she came upon you that you were the right dog for him: a nice blend of energetic and relaxed (as well as relaxing to her).

You may be the third pet to come into our house within the last ten years, but since you came along, it felt like our furry circle of friends was complete!

I really love how you and Nick have been best dog-buddies since meeting last year, by sharing (or stealing) toys and rawhide bones, playing with each other (though I constantly discourage you from rough-housing with him), sleeping in Nick's big dog-cage together, and even running to the backyard side-fence to bark at the next-door neighbors' dogs! You two make quite a team.

I also really appreciate how well you and Be-Be have gotten along throughout the year! You learned to give him space when the need may be (almost all the time), and in return, he's grown to like you, too (though you do chase him around the backyard with Nick from time to time).

And yes, we all know your quirks.

In fact, I can name two big ones: You are a very picky eater (so is Be-Be), and even if you do want to eat, you have to be fed a certain way (spoon-fed while having the spoon turn so the food would fall right into your mouth); and of course, you can be so domineering and demanding of everyone's attention that one of the things that would get you to eat your food would be by offering it to Nick (since he eats everything anyway)!

However, we all have our own quirks, and you, Georgie Porgy, have been a delight to us all by being you: an all-around cutey-pie! You'll always be our stir-crazy mini poodle as well as one of our fuzzy bubalas…

Here's to you, Georgie Poo!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
