Gateway To Fall Activities In Mount Pleasant

If you've been a Chip for a few years now, you know that once November rolls around, it gets really cold (and windy) and boring pretty fast. All the outdoor activities you could do in the warmer weather are slowly dwindling with each day. Even though it's getting colder, it doesn't mean you have to let that get you down. Try to find some new adventures that will help make Mt. P way more fun as it gets colder and closer to snow.

If you're like me and love to try to food, hit up some of the local restaurants or diners. No, I don't mean big chains like Taco Bell, Applebees, or Jimmy Johns. Head downtown and try a new restaurant you never thought you would like.

Once the cold weather starts up, it is easy to begin to feel groggy and tired all the time. Going to the gym can be a good way to combat this, but if you're really feeling adventurous, try a workout class like Zumba or go to some hot yoga to unwind and come out feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Football may be coming to a close, but there are still two games left! Get out there and support your Chippewas. Once the final game over, head over to watch some men's basketball or go watch the hockey team. This is a time you can try to support as many teams as you can!

Watching Netflix can get a little tiring after you've been watching it for five hours. Look at the local movie listings at Celebration Cinema, grab some friends, and check out the latest movie. This is also an excuse to stock up on loads of popcorn and candy.

You can even go try your luck at the casino. At Soaring Eagle, you can get into the casino and enjoy some light gambling at the age of 18, so most college students can get in. Remember not to blow all your money though, you're going to want it for groceries later this week.

Mount Pleasant always has something to do if you look close enough and with this list, you'll be able to try something new every week.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
