Gambling in the U.S vs. Canada: what’s the difference?

It likely comes as no surprise to you that both the United States and Canada do not operate under the same gambling laws. Whilst the gambling laws in both countries are somewhat similar, they do differ.

In 2006, the USA introduced the unlawful internet gambling act. This law was acquainted to ban payments on all online gambling. However, later, in 2011, this law was revised and now only applied to bets on sports events. For some online casino players, this can provide a somewhat inconvenience when it comes to payment, with the two closely intertwined.

Canadians on the other hand do not have to face these limitations introduced across the sea. Online casinos in Canada are free to operate, controlled within each individual jurisdiction. Therefore, this means players can use a variety of payment methods to deposit and withdraw money, all without the inconvenient complications some overseas players face.

Nevertheless, gambling is legal in both countries, just done slightly differently. This allows punters to enjoy many casinos, from those in Atlantic City or those one click away on their browser.

A statistical comparison

Over the last five years, the gambling market in Canada has declined by -1.2%. This is due to a lack of interest in card games.

However, with the introduction of all new technology, including online virtual reality casinos, cryptocurrency, and strategy-based slots, things could be looking on the up.

Conversely, the gambling market in the United States is increasing. Although there is no exact figure, it is thought that the industry itself brings in $150 billion each year.

This too is increasing with the introduction of new technologies.

In particular, in both countries and across the globe, online gambling is taking over. More and more players are beginning to hit the online casinos, playing a variety of slots, casino games, and live table games from the comfort of their own home.

Virtual reality now lets players experience this in the first person, able to walk around their favorite casinos, interact with dealers and other players, and play a whole host of different games.

Dreamz Casino is following the trend, constantly releasing and updating their site with new slots and table games, keeping many punters happy and in-line with the online gambling trends.

So, what's next for online gambling? What can we expect in the next five or even ten years? Will virtual reality take over? Will cryptocurrency be the new payment method? And will American laws finally change to remove the aforementioned inconvenience?

Only time will tell.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
