Whether you are in a relationship or not on Valentines day you should celebrate Galantines day instead. While the "holiday" is usually geared around the single girls all the ladies in a relationship should celebrate too. I truly love gathering all your besties to celebrate the strong women that you are. It is a chance to love yourself while the rest of the world is out celebrating being in love. I mean its pink everything, wine should always be involved, and all your best friends in one place, what can be better.
I have never really enjoyed the idea of Valentines Day for many reasons, but the main reason is I hate how one single day of the year can make people who are single feel less than. It is like no one cares that they are single until February 14th comes around, and then all of a sudden people hate the thought that they do not have someone to share the holiday with. I also despise the fact that Valentines Day builds unrealistic expectations for the day. When people are in a relationship they always put so much emphasis that the day has to be a perfect blend of romance and love. I have spent the holiday single, but also when I was in a relationship I have despised Valentines day.
Galantines day on the other hand is the perfect blend of everything. I truly cannot say enough good things about spending February 14, or the days around it, celebrating Galantines day. You deserve to love yourself and your best friends everyday, but why not celebrate it a little extra that day. My advice for something you can do on Galantines day is gather your friends, decorate a section in your home where it is like a photo booth (because who doesn't love having cute pictures), wine, get something to bake whether it is cookies or cupcakes sweet treats are always a plus. You and your friends could also do face masks together while watching romantic comedies. No matter what you are your best friends are doing, you are sure to have a night you will never forget.
