No one will be quite as stressed out about life the same way that a college student approaching graduation is. Sometimes you feel as though the career path that you thought you were meant to be on isn't the right one exactly, or you start overthinking your major and every choice you've made up until the present time.
Did I study enough? Did I study enough of the right subject? Then the topic of internships, jobs, etc. come up and the future becomes hazier. College is an interesting time of learning to enjoy living in the present because as many say, it's supposed to be "the best years of your life--" while also preparing diligently for the future.
You look around your campus freshman year, blink, and all of a sudden it's May and you're a junior.
It's a scary time in your life if you're not in a major that you are truly in love with and in a position that all but guarantees you a job out of school. Many people also struggle with whether they should focus primarily on income or following their passions (which are not mutually exclusive, by the way). What I'm trying to say is--there are a lot of reasons for feeling as lost as many people do.
But it's okay. It's totally fine to feel lost as long as you don't keep idle. Keep moving forward. Don't let the uncertainty of an action keep you from making that action. Apply for internships you think you might enjoy even if they're not helpful to a specific career goal, especially if you don't know what your career goal is.
Join clubs that you find interests in for the pure fact that you enjoy being in conversations about their topics. Study for the degree(s) that cover all of your interest bases. Don't skip a beat. Keep moving forward because the worst thing you can do, is do nothing.
It's true that everything is meant to be. But the actions you take now determine what you are meant to experience in the future. Sitting on your couch all day will do nothing but have your life meant to be as someone who sits on the couch all day. But someone who is proactive and constantly working hard to secure their future--a secure future is sure to be meant for them.
However, there are a lot of things that we can't control, and those factors are what challenge and mold us into the people we are meant to become. Take life day by day, don't keep still, and keep yourself open to whatever makes you happy. The most successful people are the ones who turn hobbies into careers anyway.
And it's okay if you don't know what it is yet.
