Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the dating game is about to get a whole lot more professional: Think LinkedIn meets the wonderful world of dating.
Let’s back it up.
It all started with a “gorgeous” girl on Michigan State University’s campus. Back in January, junior Joey Adams worked up the courage to ask this girl out on a date. Her response was not exactly what he expected.
“She asked if I had a dating resume that she could look at, and when I said no (like any normal person would) she told me no,” Adams said.
Poor, poor Joey.
But don’t worry. He was determined. And now, he's prepared for if he ends up in this situation again in the future. How so? He decided to write up a dating resume and posted it on Instagram. In his caption, he wrote, “I know you're out there, Resume Girl, and dammit I'm going to get my date. I don't care how smug you are, I will not be defeated.”
His resume includes the basics with his major, GPA, and work experience (which he notes is not a euphemism). His objective is clear: “To find a honey with a bitchin' family who enjoys sushi, adventures & good movies.” He's a man who knows what he wants.
He has some solid skill sets that include replying to long texts (best skill anyone can have) and crying during "Marley & Me." Most importantly, he doesn't hide his greatest weakness: rollerblading.
Though this happened early in the semester, Adams' resume recently went viral because he saw an opportunity, and he took it. (And he had a little help from his 15 minutes of fame on Buzzfeed)
When a woman posted on the university's class of 2018 Facebook page saying her roommate needed a date for a formal, Adams knew exactly how to respond.
He didn't end up going to formal with her roommate, but he has received some serious attention since then.
If she doesn't take him I might https://t.co/5cyRE3ah3v

If only I was 20 years younger...I would date this guy. https://t.co/OJU2NqO59A @notjoeyadams

Okay but he's actually my dream guy https://t.co/fX9te8tyhF

His dating resume actually seems to be working! Adams told Buzzfeed, "I’ve gotten a few texts asking me to other formals/wedding dates, so this wasn’t a lost cause.”
Someone better snatch this guy up! He's a hot commodity. And if this is the turn dating is taking, then count me in. I'll take a dating resume over a horrible Tinder bio any day.
