Now that the semester has ended, students are in a position where they must determine their futures for themselves. No parent, professor, or counselor can help prepare students for what comes next. It is up to the students. It is the student's choice to further their education. The student is the one who will be sitting in the classroom, not anyone else. Students are picking their universities, for Baccalaureate and Master's and doctoral degree programs. But why continue? Why further your education?
If given the opportunity, you should further your education. It is easier to get your higher education when you are in the routine of things (from a high school or 4-year university) than it is to go back in 30 years for a master's degree. The more degrees you have, the higher your salary can be upon hiring. The school system is only a success for students through diligence and motivation.
These skills can guide students to be the best they can be in their lifetime, in all aspects. Furthering your education allows students to figure out how they learn best and gives a choice of different environments individualized for each student. Attending a college opens the mind and exposes students to new thoughts and opinions. College is hard, but it will be worth it, in the grand scheme of things.
I am so grateful for my education because I know it will give me the tools to be successful in the career I want. It's hard not to be grateful when 25 million kids will never go to school in their lifetime. By furthering your own education, you can help lower the statistic. Furthering your education lets you be the solution to the problems the world faces today. I'm not just saying this because I have my heart set on a career that requires higher education.
I truly believe every student should take the opportunity to further their education even if they are not by law required to go to school. In the world we live in, education is not a right but a privilege. Pursuing higher education allows you to push for education to be a right for all.
In primary school, students learned how to read and write. School gave you friends to last a lifetime. School gave you teachers and mentors. Why stop the education now when it's just getting started? Even with a bachelor’s degree or even a master’s degree, unemployment among recent grads is a serious problem.
However, it is easier to get a job having degrees under your belt. Getting your higher education is setting you up for success. To be considered marketable and employable, having a college degree is critical.
