This playlist came from looking up the first song, Have You Seen the Rain?, and then realizing that I apparently loved Creedence Clearwater Revival. I grew up listening to a lot of different music. My parents grew up in the 60's and lived through some of the most incredible and iconic decades for music. The end of jazz, the rise of rock, the rise of pop, there's so much that they've lived through and even though I'm about four decades behind them, they shared it with me. There are so many songs that I know and love and just never realized who sang them. Dive back a couple decades with me and get your groove on.

1. "Have You Ever Seen The Rain?" - Creedence Clearwater Revival

2. "House of the Rising Sun" - Animals

3. "Don't Fear The Reaper" - Blue Oyster Cult

4. "So This is Love" - Ilene Woods

5. "Bad Moon Rising" - Creedence Clearwater Revival

6. "California Dreamin'" - The Mamas and the Papas

7. "I Put a Spell On You" - Nina Simone

8. "Edge of Seventeen" - Stevie Nicks

9. "Fortunate Son" - Creedence Clearwater Revival

10. "Bang Bang" - Nancy Sinatra

11. "Nights in White Satin" - The Moody Blues

12. "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" - Frankie Vali and the Four Seasons

13. "Time of the Season" - The Zombies

Not all of these songs are "funky" but, after a while, I got caught in a spiral of music videos on YouTube and found some favorites from when I was a little kid. They're all songs that put a smile on my face and a little wiggle in my butt.

So, play this playlist driving around town, or maybe just wandering around your house. Play it with your parents and quiz them on their own knowledge. This playlist could spark a conversation that you maybe didn't think was possible. Bonding over music is magical.

Hell, maybe you'll find a new favorite band along the way.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
