This summer, I am going to surf the waves and tan away. I am tired of sitting indoors all summer because I have no one to actually do stuff with. This year, I've built bonds and plan to use them to have an amazing summer. Summer 2018 will be my best summer yet, and here's how I'll make sure of it!

1. Beach it up!

I plan to be at the beach at least once every two weeks this summer. Nothing better than catching some rays and then riding the waves.

2. Campfires are a must.

I don't personally own a fire pit, but to all my friends that do, I am on my way! Nothing better than talking about life with friends around a nice glow at night. I'll even bring all things needed for yummy s'mores!

3. Can you say "canoe time"?

I love riding in canoes, and you bet I am going to "rock the boat" this year. Fair warning to all canoe passengers that we may just turn this boat up.

4. Amusement parks!

This summer, I am going to get as many thrills in as I can. I'm going to start off by riding all of the scariest rides at all of the local amusement parks. Nothing can stop me from trying to scare myself this summer.

5. Road trips.

I plan on going to at least three places I have never been before with my buds. I need a little adventure in my life.

6. Waterfall chasing!

I have never been to a waterfall that I could actually swim in, and this summer is going to change that. I am going to find an amazing spot to take model pics and do super cool tricks in.

7. Go-Karts!

I'm really over getting speeding tickets so, this summer, I am going to speed my heart away at a go-kart track. Nothing better than racing my friends legally.

8. Master beer pong.

People always talk about how they're either good at beer pong while drunk or others while sober. However, I suck no matter how sober or drunk I am. This summer, I'm going to master the art of beer pong while sober and drunk. Hopefully.

9. Delsea Drive-In.

I think the drive-in is a super cheap way to watch a great movie in a great atmosphere. I love the idea of laying in a pickup truck and eating popcorn under blankets. Talk about a beautiful night.

10. Photoshoots everywhere!

I realized that I had so much worry about my self-image that I stopped capturing my favorite moments. I am completely over that state of mind. I will be taking pictures everywhere I go. Be ready, Instagram followers, you've been warned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
