Women of the Year: Lady Noles Basketball Team

PSA: Our Lady Noles are a really good basketball team and a congratulations is in order for these athletic and talented women. Our outstanding women of Florida State ran through competition in the regular season and were poised to continue that streak leading up into the NCAA Championship.

It is apparent that the whole basketball world knows the accomplishments that they have done, seeing as Sue Semrau was named the National Coach of the Year for her memorable season that her and her ladies put on and Junior Center and Adut Bulgak was named an honorable mention All-American. This only solidifies the reasons as to why these ladies should not be slighted and cast away because they have accomplished something great for our university.

Our ladies ended the season with a resounding 32-5 record all the while providing us with a magical trip that was cut to soon. Five women on the team were scoring in double figures and shooting at least 45 from the field, Adut Bulgak, Maegan Conwright, Leticia Romero, Shakayla Thomas and Ivey Slaughter. We all must not let their magical run go unheard of or unnoticed because these women have done what a lot of schools could not have accomplished. Although they did not make it further, there is always next year and that whole year will be the year for Florida State athletics.

So whenever you see a Lady Nole on campus, in the Leach, or even at Club Pub make sure that you stop what you are doing and give these women the praise and recognition that they deserve because the same time next year, you may be calling them the new NCAA tournament champions. Keep your heads up ladies, your time is coming soon and you all will reign as the champions of the women basketball world.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
