Hey, you up there! Yeah, look over at the ginormous table over here... a little to the right... yes right here. Yes, I know you thought I was completely dead and cooked but don't worry I am just a figment of your imagination. I just wanted to inform you on some important things about us turkey's before diving in and gobbling me up because I am the voice for all turkey's around the world.

Well first off, I want to talk about how many turkeys get eaten on Thanksgiving alone because it is amazing, and well let's face it, #TurkeyLivesMatter. It is estimated by The National Turkey Federation (yes that's a real thing, google it.) that about 46 million turkeys are eaten on Thanksgiving alone. That is one fifth of the annual amount consumed in the Unites Sates! (fact check: here.)

Another interesting fact that I came across on my research (yes, us turkeys do research) is why turkey is a large part of the Thanksgiving feast. Well, when Abraham Lincoln declared Thanksgiving a national holiday in 1863, the turkey was a uniquely American bird and it was popularly hunted amongst the colonists, according to Bradford (fact check: here.) However, contrary to popular belief, turkey is believed to not have been eaten at the first Thanksgiving with the pilgrims and the Native American's because it is never explicitly stated what bird they ate. In Winslow's journal, its only states that they gathered "wild fowl", most likely meaning geese or duck (fact check: the same link listed above).

I know you ay be wondering why I am trying to tell you all of this information about turkey's, but like I said I am the voice for turkeys. My main purpose for you today is to try and persuade you to not take my family members anymore! Like I had mentioned previously, in Bradford's journal turkey wasn't even a part of the original feast, so why have it now?? Now, I know that it has been an American tradition for several years, but what about change? People are always looking for ways that they can change things up to revamp them and this is a way you can! Why not have deer or duck? There are plenty of more options other than the classical turkey!!

Well, my job here is done. If you really want to, you can go ahead with your feast and celebrate Thanksgiving... but please next year consider another main course. Change things up... make your own traditions. Happy Thanksgiving from turkeys everywhere!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
