The end of the semester always means a trip home. Whether that be for the next three months or just a few weeks, it's always a great part of summer. For me, that trip home means traveling from Texas to Colorado. And that's pretty darn exciting.
Among all the places my feet have traveled, Colorado is by far the best. And I get to call it HOME? How wonderful is that? As I've been back in Colorado for a week now, I'm feeling inclined to write down all the differences I've noted this year.
1. SNOW IN SPRING
Yep, it just blizzard in May. Late May. And thank goodness my Sorrels always stay in Colorado because the contents of my suitcase were ill-prepared for snow.
2. THE MOUNTAINS
Somehow it never fails to amaze me how darn beautiful the mountains are. And the fact that I get to see them every day is pretty wonderful too.
3. THE STATE PRIDE
I'm not going to lie Texans LOVE Texas. But Coloradans also have a great deal of state pride and it shows in the immense amount of Colorado flag apparel.
4. THE FOOD
Well, I love me some Tex-Mex, the familiar restaurants of home never fail to make my stomach exceptionally happy. And Colorado has some of the best coffee (it's just the truth sorry Seattle).
5. COLORADO PEOPLE
They're just the BEST. Enough said.
