I want to start out by saying thanks for not giving up on me. There have been some times when I know I've been difficult to talk to and began acting stubborn, but you've never left me and I can't thank you enough for that.
Recently in life, I have realized just how much you've done for me, whether it was small things like helping me out when I need a little food or something more meaningful like our small conversations about the week on Saturday or Sunday nights. You helped me become the independent young adult I am and I wouldn't be here without you. There are a few specific people I think everyone should be able to say "Thank you" and "I love you" to. One is a mother. And mom, I wish there was a way to say it enough because I never feel like I could.
A mother/daughter relationship is something so special and significant in a girl's life that I am so incredibly grateful to have: from combing my hair after bath-time when I was younger; to teaching me the best ways to frost a cake or decorate a cookie; to sitting and listen to me go on and on about the drama I think is so very important when you know in about a week I will be over it, yet you listen until the end of it every time. You always seem to know what will happen in the future while my mind is completely off in la-la land. You're there when I need a shoulder to cry on but also when my ears need a mouthful of a lecture because I made a not-so-smart decision. You always help me turn it into a learning experience. As I've come to realize, a burnt hand learns best.
All in all, you're a superhero mom. You have been a mom, a role model, a guiding light, and you've been my best friend. My senior year of high school will always be one of my favorites because of the memories we've made and how close we got. There are so many other times in my life that I can talk about to show how you have impacted me, but that least would be endless. I love you to the moon and back, Mom.
Yours truly,
Mags
