A Best Friend "Forever" Isn't Always A Forever Best Friend

It was a time when we both needed somebody.

A Best Friend "Forever" Isn't Always A Forever Best Friend

I originally put a photograph of us as the cover photo, but I didn't want you to directly see that this article was about you. Not only that, but I have a hard time facing the fact that our friendship is really over. Part of me still thinks that there is some kind of spark between us, and then I have to remind myself that I have been trying to rekindle this friendship for over a year now.

Somebody on Urban Dictionary defined a best friend as, "The people you think about when you make plans. They are the first people you go to when you need someone to talk to. You will phone them up just to talk about nothing, or the most important things in your life. When you’re sad they will try their hardest to cheer you up. They are the shoulder to cry on, because you know that they truly care about you."

This definition of a best friend at one point was spot on for us. We met in the funniest way, a way that nobody would ever expect. It seems crazy that social media could start a great friendship--social media can do everything these days. High school was about to wrap up for me and I hadn't had a trustworthy friend in years. You and I became friends at a time where we both needed somebody who cared.

Within a short amount of time, you became part of the family and enjoyed great moments with us all. It is always enjoyable to look back at all of our photographs together, especially the ones from our adventures. As fun as it can be, it saddens me to see that we don't have any recent photos together because we don't keep in touch with each other anymore.

It seems as if when I went to college, we started to part ways. Keeping in touch was hard because I was in school full time while you were working full time. Even though new people came into both of our lives, I still saw you as my best friend.

Your photographs come up on my Instagram feed every once in a while and I hope that you are doing good. It looks like you have a whole new group of friends, and I couldn't be happier for you. You have always aimed to go out of your way to make people smile during the hardest times and nothing has ever stopped you from doing that. I want you to remember to never let anybody take that away from you or let anybody bring you down. You don't deserve that and you never have.

There are so many times where I wish I could call you to let you know what is going on or to tell you about something funny that happened. If there is ever a time where you are looking through old photographs of us or need somebody to talk to, remember that I am here and happy to answer a phone call. I would love to get the 411 on your life and learn about all the new things that have come about. I miss our friendship, I really do.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
