Dear Best Friend,
Friendships have their ups and downs, their close periods and their distant periods. Right now we're in an awkward in-between. But you see, it's hard for both of us right now because we're both in college, I'm an hour away, and you're working while being a full-time student.
Every couple of days I'll send you a Snapchat asking how things are going, and you'll answer, but we don't talk about the real stuff really. But I don't blame you because we're both extraordinarily busy. We never really hung out a lot to begin with, because you live 20 minutes away from me and before we could drive our moms would hate to drive all that way. Now that we're older, we don't really hang out much because we both have jobs.
But I'll never stop being your best friend, of course. I'm not phased by not talking to you much, because we never really talked much anyway. It's just how our friendship is. We still have a blast when we're with each other though, and that's what counts. Who says best friends have to talk every day?
I want you to know that I'm proud of you. I'm proud of you for being a full time college student and working at the same time, and I'm proud of you for figuring out what you want to do in life. And I love you. We may not talk every day, but trust me I support every single thing you do and I'll always be here cheering you on from the sideline.
No matter where life takes us or where our friendship goes, I'll always be the annoying mom following you around.
