Welcome to college. You live in a small box with someone you’ve never met before, you eat subpar food in a cafeteria, and the first few nights are spent crying. Oh, and don’t get me started on the communal bathrooms. Does this sound familiar?
OK, so college isn’t nearly as bad as prison. But it’s hard to ignore the similarities in the two lifestyles. For all of you who are embarking on the journey that is freshman year, here is glimpse of what’s to come, as told by the ladies from Litchfield Correctional.
1. Getting used to the dining hall
2. Dealing with loud people in the library.
3. Getting ready for your first night out.
4. When you and all your friends get into the bar, despite your horrible fake IDs.
5. Trying to remember last night.
6. Adjusting to community showers.
7. Calling your parents for advice.
8. Having your first crush at college.
9. But when they don't feel the same way ...
10. Taking on finals week
11. When you find out you passed your exams.
12. Saying goodbye to your friends for the summer.
Through all the ups and downs, freshman year is one roller coaster I know I would like to ride a few times. To all you future freshmen, don't take a second of it for granted. It may seem hard to adjust but once you do, you're going to have a blast.
