One month. In exactly one month, I will have completed my last final of freshman year and be home, ready to start my summer.
I didn’t really realize how short this time was until my dad took me to lunch today and he said, “so you only have three weeks left of classes?” And I looked at him and said no. No way. Yes. Yes, three more weeks of classes and one week of finals.
Three weeks left of freshman year. Woah.
Three weeks ago, I was preparing to go on spring break with my friends. A trip that would become one of the best times of my life.
And now, three weeks later, I only have three weeks left of my freshman year. I don’t really have any words to describe this year, but I am so thankful.
I am thankful for the independence I have gained, the friends I will have for a lifetime, the opportunities I have been given. Most importantly, I am thankful for the experiences.
There's all this talk about the whole "college experience," but I can't sit here and explain the college experience to you because the college experience is different for everyone. Everyone has a unique college experience.
This college experience isn't what they tell you, but maybe it's even better.
I am thankful for every single one of my experiences in the past year. I have learned so much in the past year and I don't think there's anything that could have prepared me for these experiences.
Yes, I am thankful for my experience in high school and I am thankful for the things that high school taught me, but that did not prepare me for college and it wasn't supposed to.
The fact that I had no idea what I was doing at the beginning of this year made me the person I am today. I was able to learn more than I knew I was capable of and I did things that I did not know I was capable of.
Freshman year is coming to an end, and I am going to soak up the last few weeks. I am going to learn as much as I can in the last few weeks. I can not wait for the opportunities I will be given throughout the rest of my college experience.
