4 Promises To My Nephew

Dear Little Man, I Promise:

4 Promises To My Nephew
Demi Rogers

I never knew that myself, someone that openly claims to not be a kid’s person fell so quickly in love with you.

But I can’t even deny it now. I seriously think you are the greatest thing that has ever happened to our family.

You may only be three months old but you bring so much joy and giggles to a house that is often full of way too much estrogen.

As your aunt, there are a few things I promise.

I promise to love you unconditionally.

Little man, you already have my heart and in my eyes, you can do no wrong. I’m sure someday your mom will tell me different. When she starts having to put you in time out and you start getting into all of the things that you shouldn’t but that’s life and I look forward to hearing and laughing at all of those stories.

I promise to always be here for you.

It doesn’t matter what time of day or night it is as your aunt I will always be a call or text away it’s never too early or too late.

I promise to teach you.

I promise to teach you all that I know about God and Christianity even if you don’t really care to listen. I can also help you when it comes to school especially if you need help in English-- but if it’s a math issue you are having I’m sorry little man I can’t help you there.

I promise to keep your mom in line.

Yes, we all know that your mom can be a wee bit psycho at times (I love you Demi) but remember that you can always come to me and I will at least let her take it out on me instead of you. Unless it involves your safety of course, then you have to take the heat for that one mister.

In all of these promises, I hope that you can see that we all love you more than you will ever know.

Love,

Your Aunt.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
