A date that I’ll always remember.
It was the day I adopted my best friend. My special little girl, Nakita Centofanti — Kita, for short.
At a mere three feet tall and maybe 60 pounds of pure muscle, she has been one of the best decisions in my life. From tackling new responsibilities to having someone there to just hear me rant, she’s seen it all.
Although she was abused prior to me adopting her, I’ve given her a reason to keep on ticking each day, and she does the same for me.
In my opinion, I think every person should adopt a dog and experience what is known as a “man’s best friend.”
And here are my three reasons backing that opinion:
1. A New Best Friend
No matter what kind of day you’re having, good or bad, a dog is there to just show and receive love. With a healthy dog, and a great home, it’s amazing how much they become a part of the family. It’s a best friend that you constantly hangout with.
2. All New Responsibilities
With my first dog, I’ve taken on a whole heap of new responsibilities — but for my four legged-friend, it’s worth it.
3. What could be better?
Have you ever been asked, “Want to know what’s cuter than the cutest cat?” That answer: any dog.
If you’ve ever watched the tear-jerker known as “Marley and Me” then you’ll be familiar with this last quote from Owen Wilson.
“A dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his.”
