I usually get asked for music recommendations from people and I normally find myself referring the same artists, so why not scribble them all down in a uniform list on here? Here are some artists you should add to your playlist A$AP!

1. Bad Suns

For fans of: Sir Sly, Vinyl Theatre, Bleachers, Atlas Genius, Night Riots

When I say these guys are my babies, I’m not joking. I’ve met them like 3 times in real life, but that’s not the point! They’re also from my hometown LA! (also not the freakin' point) They started out performing live and recording in their late teens-early 20’s, and have really made a name for themselves since their debut of their first record, Language and Perspective. I would describe their sound as very catchy, 80’s post-punk influenced with a contemporary edge. They’ve since had 2 headline tours, performed at Coachella, ACL, etc. and have tagged along with The Neighbourhood on the road too! I’m personally really proud of them, being my babies and all, and besides the hella great music, they’re really nice guys! Give them a listen!

Go listen to: “Cardiac Arrest” “Daft Pretty Boys” “We Move Like The Ocean” and “Heartbreaker”

2. Catfish & The Bottlemen

For fans of: Circa Waves, The Wombats, The Vaccines

I absolutely love these guys. The best way I can describe the English boys' sound is if The Strokes and Cage The Elephant had a baby with a little sprinkle of Arctic Monkeys. Despite that, they have their own originality that I’ve fallen in love with. I also happen to be MADLY in love with lead singer, Van McCann.

Go listen to: “Souncheck” “Cocoon” "7" and “Kathleen”

3. Kali Uchis

For fans of: SZA, Kelela, Doja Kat, Syd

A Colombian queen and instant icon. Her music definitely has some Latin influence in the sound, but Kali adds her own, as we say en español: sabor. She’s known for referencing fellow Colombians Calle 13 in her music videos, her song ‘Sycamore Tree’ in the AHS trailer, covering “Sabor a Mi” flawlessly, her collab with Juanes (!!!) and her "boss b" vibe. I’m so here for it.

Go listen to: “Ridin’ Round” “Only Girl” (feat. Vince Staples) “Lottery”

4. Waterparks

For fans of: State Champs, Neck Deep, SUM 41, Smashmouth (lol)

Alas! Another band I’ve met in person once or twice (and also my Facebook friends) Besides being super adorable human beings from Houston, they’re one of the rising pop-punk bands of today. They’ve been recognized by Good Charlotte, Sleeping with Sirens, and mister Mikey Way himself (me: screams).

Go listen to: “I’m a Natural Blue” “Stupid For You” and “Hawaii (Stay Awake)

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
