They say, "you don't know what you've got until it's gone" and that may be true. But, getting it back for a period of time makes it all seem that much better.
1. Hugs
Specifically, hugs from your parents. But, any hug is great when you aren't close enough to anyone at school. It's amazing to be home for weeks at a time and getting to hug your family whenever you want.
2. Your bed
You probably realized your bed at home is much cozier than the one in your dorm, but you may not have realized how much until you've slept in it for a few weeks
3. The water pressure of your shower
Just like with your bed, you might have noticed how much better the shower at home used to be. But, coming home for break makes it seem like a pressure washer when you're shampooing.
4. Your home WiFi
University WiFi is bad even when it's better than usual. Going home to find that it never lags or just shuts off is such a blessing.
5. Your parents' cooking
When you lived at home, you may have gotten tired of their cooking, but a few months of dorm and dining hall food and all you want is some of your parents' home cooking
6. Car rides with your old friends
Everything about going home for the holidays and having all your friends reunite is awesome, but there's just something extra special about the car rides.
7. That restaurant that only exists in your hometown
If you went far enough away from home, you may be without the restaurant you loved growing up. You're going to want to stop and get your favorite foods while you can.
8. The lack of people
Living in a crowded area like a dorm is nice, but at times, it's really great to have some personal space.
9. Having your own room
Speaking of personal space, how great is it to have our own room? No matter how much you adore your roommate, having a room all to yourself is fantastic!
