To Those Who Need It,
Even though I’ve only been around for a short 19 years in this world, I’ve learned one thing: life is a lot like a roller coaster, and that even though it comes with a lot of downs, it comes with a lot of ups too. Just like a roller coaster, the fun of life begins the moment you realize that you need to stop worrying about every little fall, but instead just sit back and enjoy the ride.
I know that you might be thinking that it’s easier to say it than to do it, and from personal experience, I know that it is. I’ve been where you are, wondering if you’re ever going to make it through the rough times, wondering why God is making you suffer. I know what it feels like to reach rock bottom, I’ve been there a few times myself. But I also know that rock bottom is a very solid foundation on which you can rebuild your life, and that greatness can come from pain if you’re patient enough to watch it rise from the ashes.
But I also know for that every time something breaks, you must try and put it back together again. It may not work the first time, second, or even fifteenth time. However, with patience and a little imagination, problems can be mended, people can forgive, and life can become good again. Bad days happen, and so do bad things, but that doesn’t mean that your life is bad too. It just means that God knows you are strong enough to handle the rain that must come before the rainbow.
So when the bad days and bad moments hit, you have to do your best to remember the positives, because that’s what will help you get through. Think about how good your grandma’s chocolate chip cookies taste straight out of the oven. Think about how much fun you have when you’re with your best friends, and how your inside jokes are the kind that make you laugh until your sides hurt and you’re crying (happy tears of course). Think about how happy you are when the waiter finally brings the pizza you’ve been waiting for, and how good it tastes even after your 200th piece. It’s these moments that allow you to realize there still is good in the world, even when all you feel like you can see is the bad. Let them remind you how blessed you are to be surrounded by things and people that you love and that these things won’t disappear just because something bad happened.
Next time, when you feel like your world is falling apart, always remember how good life is, and how great you are. God put you on this earth for a reason, and he has a plan for you, even if we can’t understand it right now. Always remember that what is meant to be will be and that the struggles that you endure will only make you stronger. You are strong, you are beautiful, and you are amazing. You can do anything you set your mind to, and you can make it through anything life throws at you with a little faith and a lot of love.
