Now, we might not all appreciate it all the time, but our mothers are some of the strongest people we know. I'm not diverting from the fact that our fathers are strong as well, because they are. However, mom's, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, are some of the toughest people around. They do so much for us, and we don't acknowledge some of the things they do, and we don't always appreciate it either. That's wrong of us. Let me remind you of some of the wonderful things these women do.

1. A mother will always still take care of you first, even if she is sick too. Have you ever been sick at the same time your mother has? I have, my mom still managed to make me homemade chicken noodle soup, while battling her own cold. She would cough, sneeze, and run out of breath, but mom would still make sure I was warm, took medicine, and had liquids and food to make me feel better.

2. Us children can be so spiteful to our parents. Whether justified or not, usually we are never justified to act so to our parents. However, we can be the meanest things, say the lowest blows, and mom will still love us, and sadly blame it on something she's doing. That's not right. Our words of hate can be stronger than we think, and we don't know how much we can hurt them. This is something we need to stop. It's not okay to be mean to our moms, and it's heartbreaking even through that, she will still love us.

3. We can make bad decisions, and mom still won't be mad at us. We can throw parties, make bad underage decisions, or get an F on a test, and she still won't be mad. I mean sure she will be upset that we didn't study harder like we should, we didn't follow the rules we were supposed to, but she still isn't mad. She tries to help us learn how to make it up. She will go out of her way to understand and try to help us, so we won't make this same mistake again. Mom is understanding.

4. If we fall on our ass, mom will be there to help us get up. As we grow older, we approach the time where we must leave the nest. What if we have nowhere to leave to? That's the thing. Even if we must leave, but have no place to go, mom will still let you stay with her. Whether it's a bad night at college, or the bills weren't paid and we need somewhere to stay, mom's house is always open. Her door is open, and she's there to cook you meals and take care of us.

5. "Mom, I need more cash please to do laundry this month, could you give me 20$? Mom, I need money for Christmas gifts this year, mom I need money to go shopping, mom I need gas money, mom I need this that and that thing over there". Mom is so generous, and even if her wallet starts to feel a bit of pain, mom is still there to give us money if we need it. Whether we couldn't finish our laundry, need a few bucks for gas, she will always be there to help us financially. Even though mom will always be there for us, it's important we make a living too, and figure out how to make money, save it, and spend it wisely, we gotta make a living to be mom's and dad's one day too you know.

These are just a few of the things mom's, grandmother's, and great-grandmother's will do. They amaze me how much they will do to help us, support us, love us, and make us happy. We should all start looking at the little thing's mom does. She won't be around forever, and wouldn't it hurt to know we didn't appreciate the most of her while we could? I know I would feel bad if mom never knew how much I know she tries to be the best mom she can. I love my mom. She is a truly loving woman. Let's not forget what our wonderful mom's do.

I love you, mom.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
