Your best friend, most of us are blessed to be able to have them close by, maybe 15-20 minutes away. Then there are some of us who have good friends who live super close by but we also have an absolute best friend who we talk to almost every day whether it's texting, calling and facetiming, whatever it may be you two talk all the time but you haven't actually been able to meet each other.
Long-distance friendships can be rough… there will be times when you just want to be with them and vise versa but you just can't be in that given moment because of a couple of hundred miles between the two of you. This makes it hard to physically be there for each other during both the good and bad times.
What I think is personally the hardest is when you are going through a really, really tough time and you can't physically be there to comfort your ABSOLUTE BEST FRIEND… that's the moment that gets you choked up and makes you feel completely helpless. That's your best friend and you can't do anything to take away the pain and suffering.
Yes, long-distance friendships have its downsides, but it also has its upsides…
1. You have someone there to constantly talk to via text and phone
2. You two have an epic meme collection
3. Because you two cant personally meet each other's family, you have them all on social media! (Yes she is also friends with your mom and asks how she is every time you guys talk, and YES YOUR MOM LOVES HER TOO!)
4. You two may not be able to spend a lot of time together, shoot, you two may not have even met yet but, that just makes the time you two do get together and will get together just a bit more valuable.
If you and your bestie have a long-distance friendship, know that you two are kicka** because this is not for the faint heart. You two have a bond that is unlike any other.
