It’s no surprise that our bodies go through a bit of a shock when entering college. But one of the most prominent changes is in our diets. No more home-made dinners cooked by Mom, or delicious packed lunches made by Dad. College is filled with many delectable looking temptations to eat but it seems the same foods frequent our diets week after week.
1. Caffeine:
Of course every freshman can appreciate all the wonders that caffeine can help us accomplish. This magical drink can be our constant companion through cruel assignments, early morning classes, and grueling all nighters. Whether it be coffee or soda pop, caffeine helps us survive the crazy ups and downs of college life. 2. Jimmy Johns:Is it even possible to survive without the constant delivery of Jimmy Johns sandwiches? There are so many choices of meats and cheeses that can be mixed around to create the perfect serenity of a meal. And lets be honest, we all feel somewhat healthy for eating something that isn't covered in grease.
3. Chick-Fil-A:
It’s hard to resist the dreamy temptation of meal trade at the union when six o'clock rolls by. The delicious fast food is not only convent and mouth watering but it also feel as if we are getting it for free when all we have to do is hand over our student IDs and with one swipe we get a meal that would have been payed for using loose change out of our pockets.
4. The Vending Machine:
With the spare change we save from using meal trade on Chick-Fil-A, we use on the fabulously overstocked vending machines. Although they can be sketchy at times and eat our money, for the most part they are a quick and easy source of food. They may not be the most delectable type of meals, but we can’t help but get excited when we have the perfect amount of change to get the chips we've been craving all day.
5. Pizza:
Whether it be from Dominos or Pizza Hut, there always seems to be a constant stream of pizza delivery cars bustling in and out of dorm parking lots. Pizza is a tasty midnight treat that can easily fill up an entire floor with everyone forking out only a couple bucks each. Plus, the left overs are easy to store and even easier to finish off the next day.
