In life, we always want to do right, and it can seem like we are just doing what we have to do to stay afloat. We feel that we're just following rules as a routine. It feels that way, but this isn't true in the reputation it builds for us.
Think about it this way. You're following rules and doing right when you could easily be ignoring rules and making bad decisions which can teach you a lesson but they can also affect you in the long run.
You're actually taking the high road by following rules because you are benefited in the long run. You're giving up rebelling and developing bad habits to follow the rules and find yourself in all the right ways.
This is majorly beneficial especially as a young person because we get this weird jealousy of others who supposedly have more freedom than we do. Don't be fooled by this because these people are taking advantage of freedom by doing things that don't benefit them.
You will be benefited by this and you'll feel amazing knowing that you found yourself without being influenced by things that actually harm you instead of helping you. You found yourself in a positive way and nothing can change that.
A thing I've realized is that most people who fall into certain habits to balance their feelings are people who don't fully know themselves because if they did they wouldn't create a reliance on things that don't benefit them. It's all about perspective, I suppose.
So. Follow the rules and do right. You will find yourself and everything will be okay. It's better to wait than to rush into things. Now is a time of discovery and potential, so don't do anything drastic just yet. You've got your whole life. Make the most of it and be good to yourself.
