Having a part-time job may be ideal to gain experience, earn money for yourself, and place something on your job resume but instead, it turns out to be a stressful turn to your schedule and yourself.
When having a part-time job, I advise that it's better to work one day than two days. Homework and assignments pile up throughout the semester. Also, the amount of time to complete them gets decreased because of your part-time job. Before accepting a part-time job, one must consider the time management. I kind of underestimated the amount of homework that I will get from college and I work two days for my part-time job. I get tired very easily and have less amount of sleep because of it. So, my best advice from personal experience is trying to work one day. Or rather, have a part-time job during the summer instead of during your college semesters.
Moreover, a part-time job also becomes stressful depending on what kind of job that you have. Sometimes the pressure of having a part-time job follows you and you might even wish that the days of your part-time job never comes. For me, because of my part-time job is a little stressful, I can only relax in the college classes and the small little breaks for myself for meals and with my family. However, I barely have some free time for my hobbies and for real relaxation. Due to having a part-time job, my heart grows a little heavy each day and I just cherish my break times. For me, I have to work on Fridays and Saturdays. Therefore, I can't even enjoy and agree with my sisters and friends when they say, "I can't wait for the weekend to come!" Well, too bad, the weekend means rest and breaks for others while the weekend means more work for me.
Furthermore, I can't even participate in the clubs that I want to do due to the work schedule and that the clubs that I want to join, their meetings are on Friday. Even when I come back from work and plan to do my homework, I become so tired and I just want to think about is closing my eyes to go to sleep. I cannot even focus on my homework. Therefore, I usually have to complete all of my homework and multitask on Sunday, which is my only day for resting.

In addition, I become grumpier, which I do not favor at all. My perspective of the world also has changed a little. Due to my job consists of me interacting with customers, I have experienced and meet nice and good people as well as to the meanest people. Also, sometimes if you are incapable of doing something in the job, people will look down on you and insult you directly which hurts a little. This makes me upset a lot when starting out. Then, you get a feeling that people will start to compare you to others because of the capability of doing the job and then this creates anxiety and doubt within oneself.
It also gets difficult when you want to ask for a break or day off from work due to college homework because your boss might not like it when you ask. However, having a part-time job also makes me grow stronger, gain more experience in the real world, and pushes me to let things go. In short, if you can manage the part-time job and it's not stressful at all, you can continue to work, but if it becomes stressful, try not to get a part-time job during your college semester because it is not worth it at all.
