Fly, Eagles, Fly!
How many times has this song , a picture of Lane Johnson (#65) wearing an "underdog" mask, or a video of Philadelphia football players executing elaborate end zone celebrations appeared in your social media feeds?
"Eagles fever" has taken the nation (or at least the Greater Philadelphia Area) by storm.
After the NFC Championship Game win, the Eagles are heading into their third Super Bowl appearance and Philly is pumped.
Whether you've been a die-hard, hoagie and "wooder ice" eating, Acme shopping fan since birth, or you're jumping on the Eagles bandwagon because you hate the Patriots, you're not alone in your support of Philadelphia.
Thousands of fans descended onto the streets of Philadelphia to celebrate Sunday's big win.
Celebrities also celebrating the Eagles' big victory include Will Smith, Sylvester Stallone, Mike Trout, and Tina Fey.
The Eagles have always been overlooked and written out of the playoff picture. Eagles fans have always had faith in their team and their faith proved to be right, as the Eagles continued to win games throughout this season.
However, devastation struck when top MVP award candidate, QB Carson Wentz tore his ACL during a week 14 game. The Eagles were dismissed from making a deep playoff run.
Then came backup Quarterback, Nick Foles.
Nick Foles exceeded the world's expectations and picked up were Wentz left off, eventually leading Philly to the Super Bowl. The Eagles embraced their "underdog" label and turned it into a culture.
Philly believes in the power of the underdog. Philly believes in the Eagles. Fly, Eagles, Fly!
The Eagles will face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII on February 4, 2018, for a rematch of Super Bowl XXXIX. Go Birds!
