Having a head full of hair is definitely a satisfying feeling, and I can speak from experience because I too have had a flow. People will stop and take time out of their busy day and comment on your hair. It is a good feeling to get when that happens because when you have that good/crazy hair.
In order to get a flow, there are different stages that one must go through before the flow process is complete. The process of getting a flow is a long, tough one, but once the process is complete one won't regret anything. So, as Joel Embiid says "Trust The Process."
Stage 1 — The beginning
When someone finally decides to choose to go down the path of flow, they must know that they are in for a long journey that will have difficult twists and turns along the way. This is a decision that you will look back on and be glad you made the choice you did. But just remember that once you go for it you gotta stick to it and continue down the path no matter what.
Stage 2 — The awkward length
This will be the most difficult stage for someone. This is when one's hair is starting to get long, but not long enough to do anything with it, so it just kind of awkwardly lays there. This is where most people stop following the path and turn to cutting their hair. You just hate to see it when someone ends up cutting their hair when they were so close.
Stage 3 — Completion
If you get here then congrats you've made it. Your hair is long enough to be considered flow. To people who didn't get the chance to see you, they will be very surprised the next time they see you.
I know from experience the best part is when you see a family member or a friend that you haven't seen since you had short hair, and then you get to see their reaction to your new, improved flow. They often times will be very surprised and it will give you a good laugh to just see their face.
This is also the stage where you'll meet new "flow bros" and you'll both get excited just seeing another flow that it will give you both an instant bond.
Stage 4 — Man-bun capabilities
This is the stage where you've kept your hair down for awhile and it has continued to grow long enough to where you can get a good looking man bun. Having a man-bun is definitely exciting and you just gotta go with it and not worry what others will think (even though everyone will enjoy the sight). Your hair has reached the peak of flow.
Stage 5 — The cut that ends an era
This is the sad and very scary ending part of the path, but everything good must come to end as they say. This could be months or even years after stage 4. It is when everyone knows you for having the flow and man-bun. You've also had a lot of people asking you if you're ever going to cut the flow. This is a big decision that will be very hard to make.
I got mine cut with one of my flow bros, so we were there to make each other feel better after the fact when all of our hair was gone. Just make sure that if your hair is long enough to donate that you donate it to help others that are in need. You might regret it for a little while, but in the end, lots of people will tell you that you look better.
Having a flow is quite the journey and I personally encourage everyone to try it out. Having a flow is an experience I will never forget and one I might take again sometime in the future. Just remember that if you do indeed choose to take the journey of getting a flow then stick to it and the rewards will be endless.
