An Open Letter to the Policewoman Who Brought Her Perpetrator To Justice

Dear Madam:

First of all, I would like to thank you for your selfless service as a policewoman to the Waco community. Although I call Texas Christian University my home away from home, my family lives in Waco, and I try to keep in touch and visit them as much as I can. Your bravery inspires me to do more and be more. Thanks to amazing women like you, I would like to join the United States Marine Corps upon graduating from college.

I know being a police officer is really difficult in today's society. Many individuals despise the police, and you are always putting your life on the line so that our community can remain a safe haven for everyone. You are a hero to your community, as well as our nation.

Your story is so inspiring. I am angry that justice was not delivered to your perpetrator the first time he was accused of molesting another girl who was your same age. I am angry that he did not receive the punishment that he so rightfully deserved: I believe that he should have been sentenced to life in prison without parole or the death penalty. To walk back into your past and confront the face of evil that has haunted your dreams for years must have taken courage that I could only imagine. I am so proud that you decided to go above and beyond the call of duty. I am glad that he is no longer going to be able to walk the streets of Waco for a long time. I am glad that he will not be able to take advantage of any little girl ever again.

However, I know that no matter what kind of justice he does receive, it will never reverse the hurt that you and the other victims will carry on for the rest of their lives. I do believe that it is worse to be a victim of rape than being a homicide victim.

In my opinion, child molesters are the lowest of the low in society. I have no sympathy, and I cannot bring myself to forgive anyone who takes advantage of a child like that. I see a child molester as an animal instead of a human. There is a special place in hell for those people. When he serves his time in prison, I promise you that there will be other prisoners who will despise him as much as you and the majority of the American population does.

You are one hell of an amazing woman. Keep up the good work.

-Sincerely,

Miku

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
