Although many people were shocked with the results of the 2016 Presidential Election, there are certain aspects about Trump that made him more appealing to the public eye than Clinton. After speaking with some Trump supporters and getting a sense of their insight on the election, I've recorded several qualities about Trump that appeals to the public. These distinctive qualities about Trump makes him a more compelling candidate than Hillary, and thus, serves as part of the reason for his victory. Let's explore the five reasons Trump is more favorable then Clinton.
1. Trump's Entertaining Personality
Though not everyone may agree, Trump has the tendency to entertain the general public wherever he goes. For instance, when Trump was a guest on the Wendy Williams show on October 28th, 2016, he told the camera that he has "sex" in common with his daughter. To many, this may come off as immature or inappropriate. However, others may find the unpredictability of his comments funny and entertaining. To many Americans, he is not only a politician but a person who stands out because of his personality.
2. Trump is perceived as a Fearless Speaker.
As we may know, President Donald Trump has no filter when it comes to expressing his thoughts, views, and strategies for America. Although his comments come off as rude, obnoxious and offensive, many admire his frankness and see it as a sign of bravery. That leads me to my next point.
3. Trump is Politically Incorrect.
Relatively enough, Trump is rarely ever politically correct nor give a hoot about it anyway. During all three of the presidential debates, Trump conducted his arguments by using a relatively fair level of vocabulary, making it easy for us to understand his points. Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, had done the exact opposite. In her speeches and debates, she uses sophisticated language, which makes her seem robotic, dull, and unlikable to the public eye. For instance, in one of the debates, Clinton used the phrase "Trickle Down Trump", rather than saying exactly what she means, whereas Trump's speeches are more linear and straightforward. These variations make Trump more attractive to the general public.
4. Trump's Enthusiastic Public Speaking.
Whenever Trump brings up his views to the public, he changes his tone often. Sometimes he goes from talking low, to speaking loudly. The variation in his tone makes him seem passionate and self-expressive. For example, when Trump says, "Let's make America great again!", with his enthusiasm, he becomes more credible and convincing than Hillary, who may have said a more descriptive slogan but with a lack of enthusiasm. As much as we tend to overlook these minor details, good public speaking skills involve a passionate voice, as well as corresponding hand/body gestures. Mastering these skills will make a crucial difference when persuading an audience, aside from just your political contributions and reputation in society.
5. Trump's Adequate Marketing Skills.
Aside from being an entertainer and a good public speaker, Trump is also a businessman. Likewise, he won the U.S. Economy mainly because he sold himself more compellingly than Clinton. By better selling himself and knowing how to manage his finances, Trump was able to raise a sufficient amount of money to run a successful campaign. Many people believe that Trump's financing mechanisms will enable him to pull up the current U.S. economy and steer clear from future recessions.
This article is not meant to discourage or pull you away from your current views. Rather, it is a mere interpretation of the possible qualities that could explain why Trump won over Clinton.
