Five Reasons I'm Grateful For ADPi

So, sorority recruitment just came to an end, as did my second term as Formal Recruitment Chair for Alpha Delta Pi. Sorority recruitment is basically just explaining why your chapter was the perfect fit for you in the hopes that it will serve the same purpose for girls rushing to find a Greek family.

I found my family in ADPi and I wouldn’t change it for the world. Here are five reasons I’m grateful for ADPi:

I’m thankful for being allowed to be myself. There’s not one type of ADPi. This sorority is filled with so many women with different interests and passions and goals. We have a little bit of everything and I think that’s refreshing because I never feel pressure to fit a mold. I can be my weird, wacky and wonderful self, and will always be supported and loved by my sisters.

I’m thankful for the motivation to be better. Like I said we have some pretty amazing girls in our chapter. They inspire me every day to be the best version of myself and motivate me to work harder and be better.

I’m thankful for an opportunity to help an amazing cause. The Ronald McDonald House is an incredible organization. They provide housing to families with children in long term hospital care so they can be near their loved ones. Having a child in the hospital is stressful enough, without the added worry of affording housing during that time. All of the money we raise throughout the year goes towards providing these families the opportunity to stay at a RMH while they are treating their child’s illness. It’s inspiring, and I feel honored to be able to give back to this cause.

I’m thankful for a group of girls that have made my college experience unforgettable. These last two years being in ADPi have been indescribable, but I will try. I cannot count the number of times I have laughed or smiled as a result of being in this chapter, because it’s a daily occurrence. These girls have added so much to my life, and the memories I have created with all of my sisters are enough to last me a lifetime, and I’m lucky enough to have another year to make more! PRAISE.

I’m thankful for the opportunity to help other girls gain the experience that I had. Being Formal Recruitment Chair for ADPi for the last two years has allowed me to help girls find their home in Alpha Delta Pi. Not only do I get to give back to a chapter that has given me so much, but I get to bring those amazing experiences to girls who will soon find themselves calling ADPi their home.

Alpha Delta Pi is an amazing organization and I could go on and make a list far longer about why I’m so grateful to be a part of this group, but that would take multiple articles. Basically ADPi is incredible and I feel so fortunate to call myself a member of this organization.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
