My Five Magical New Year's Resolutions
Travel and Leisure

2016 has ended, we've rung in the New Year and now it's time to move forward and part of that forward process is the age old act of creating resolutions. 2016 was an okay year for me, a lot of stress at the beginning, some success and then heartbreak, I've had better years. Hopefully 2017 will be a better year for me, so with that hope in mind here are my 5 resolutions!

1. Work through my Low Self-Esteem.

I have always had really low self-esteem and it has made me very down on myself. There have been times where I thought I was the worst person ever and I was a waste as a human being. I still feel that way sometimes but in 2017, I'd like to work past that and get more confidence.

2. Try Very Hard to get started in my True Career.

I am a proud Communication Major but like most college students I didn't wind up in my career right out of college. While I love my current job I'd really like to be started in my career, preferably by the end of the year. I'm going to work hard to make it happen or to at the very least have my foot in the door.

3. Try new things.

For awhile I've been looking for a way to express my interests. I don't really have ways to do that, especially since I'm done with college. My hope in 2017 is to finely tune what my interests are and participate in new things. I hope I can find a cool group of people to share it all with. Comic Con here I come!!

4. Achieve the body shape I'm looking for.

Towards the middle-end of 2016 I started a diet and put the work in to change my lifestyle. I wanted to be more active and lose an acceptable amount of weight. I lost a decent amount and am happy with where my weight is but I'm still not as active as I'd like to be. My hope in 2017 is that I'll get back to working out regularly and get a more toned shape.

5. Find Better Relaxation Methods

My last resolution is to find a better way to handle stress. One of the weaker aspects of my personality has always been being over whelmed quickly and not coping well with the stress that comes with it. In 2016 it cost my someone important so in 2017 I'd like to keep that in mind and talk to someone for tips on coping and relaxation. If I can remain calmer in tough situations, then life itself will be smoother for me overall. I'm going to try very hard to do this.

These 5 resolutions are what I'm ringing the New Year in with, now the trick will be to stick with them. With enough willpower I think I can do it. What are some of your resolutions?

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
