The first few weeks of college are done, and as a freshman, you definitely have a million thoughts running through your head at all times. You're so lost as to what's going on, you're sprinting from class to class to not be late, and the syllabi are so overwhelming it's hard to breathe. I bet you've thought of some of these at least once in the first few weeks.

1. Is it obvious I'm a freshman?

I swear upperclassmen can look at me and tell I'm a freshman. Going from the top of the totem pole to allllll the way back at the bottom isn't the best.

2. Can I call my mom now?

Is it acceptable to call your mom right after she leaves? Will I be judged for Facetiming her twice a day?

3. Am I even invited to this party?

In high school, to get to a party you have to be invited and I know I asked a million people before I went to make sure I wouldn't get kicked out. In college, however, if you're a girl, you're presumably invited.

4. But why don't professors tell us when we have homework?

So I'm just supposed to know when I have homework? So I basically have to check the syllabus every day...

5. Why can't this professor just tell us when things are due?

I literally don't understand.

6. Does anybody else feel this way...

Does anybody else want to go home all the time? Feel like they're too stressed to breathe? Want to cry 24/7? Still feel like they're not at home? Constantly wanting to change your dorm around? Feel like you're free from literally all authority? Feel like you're so old?

7. Nobody could've prepared me for this.

If you can relate to any of these, you're probably overwhelmed and stressed AF, but you definitely aren't alone!

8. I miss my friends from home.

If you had a bomb ass friend group from home, you know exactly what I'm talking about! I miss those crazy nut jobs that kept me laughing for hours straight.

9. Could this shower BE any smaller?

College dorm bathroom showers are HELL! If there's anything I've learned it's that I'll never be able to shave my legs in them. Nope. Can't do it. Not happening.

I know for me the first few weeks of college haven't been the best. I've met some great people, but adjusting to this new life isn't easy at all. These next four years are going to be the best and it's definitely going to be an interesting college career.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
