Without Jesus, we aren't worthy. Without God, we have no hope. Without His promises, our lives are meaningless, but because of Jesus, because of God's promises, and because of His unending grace and mercy, we are fulfilled. It can be so difficult to see in ourselves what Jesus saw when he died on the cross for us. I catch myself thinking- why for me? Jesus finds us worthy, so we must find our self-worth in Him.

It is extremely easy to get caught up in earthly things: your GPA, how many friends you have, how many dates you went on last semester, or what that one person thinks of you. Because of our sinful, human nature, we tend to let frivolous, unimportant things occupy our hearts and minds. Eventually, we begin to find our worth in those things and not in our loving Creator.

But that's just it: we are worthy because of Him and Him alone. No matter what circumstances or situations you are going through in your life, it is crucial to remember that you are enough, you are loved, and you are worthy- all because of the King.

So, here are 5 verses reminding us that our worth is in Him.

1. Psalm 139:14
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

God created each of us- he found it necessary to make us each individually different, unique, special, and amazing in our own quirky ways. God thought that Earth needed one of me and one of you, and for that reason, I know that I am enough.

2. Genesis 1:26

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Sometimes it still mesmerizes me that we were made in HIS image. God thought enough of us to do this, so we must think enough of ourselves to live a life for Him in all that we do- including how we find our worth.

3. 1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

We are a chosen people and a royal priesthood. We are HIS! He gave us life on Earth to glorify Him, to tell others about His promises, and lead others into the marvelous light. He chose us to do this, so how can we not feel worthy?

4. Luke 12:7

In fact, even the hairs on your head are all numbered. Do not be afraid; you are more valuable than many sparrows.

Do you know how many hairs are on your head? Because I sure haven't taken the time to count mine recently. But our Father knows! We don't have to be afraid because we are valuable, and because of Him, our joy is everlasting. Find worth knowing He loves us that much.

5. Isaiah 43:1

But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.

What greater joy is there than knowing you are a daughter or a son of the one true King? He is all powerful, he created the heavens and the earth, and he thought the world needed one of you, too. We are His. He wants us- and for that there is nothing that compares. We are worthy because our Father in Heaven loves us.
