Finding a job is difficult for anyone, especially soon-to-be or recent college graduates. It can make anyone feel discouraged and left with the thought, "why did I even go to college?!" Your early 20's can be a time of excitement, joy, and finding yourself. But, as the cast of "The Office" knows, it's not always rainbows and butterflies when applying for your first "adult" job.
1. When every single job description says you need experience, and you realize you have none. Hello, that's why I'm applying?!
2. Then you see the starting pay really isn't much more than you're getting now.
3. You go ahead and apply anyway. However, it takes an hour to apply for one job because after uploading your resume, you have to then re-enter all the same information that can be found on said resume.
4. You repeat this process 60 times. Forty-five jobs say you're not qualified, and you just never hear back from the rest.
5. After three months of trying, you finally get a call for an interview (probably from some mediocre, last-pick company)
6. You do everything you can to pump yourself up for the interview.
7. You realize in the interview that they're starting to not care about all of your volunteer hours and other hard work you've done up to this point. Even though you have potential to be great after you graduate in a couple months, they just want to see a degree now.
8. You start to doubt yourself and say nonsense words. Anything to escape this hell hole and go back to being a perpetual college student.
9. You're finally done and get the courtesy, "we'll be in touch." They won't be in touch.
10. You graduate college, and go back for more interviews that now you're officially qualified for.
11. Repeat steps 1-10 because finding a job is still hard, even with a degree. You try to comfort yourself with the wise words of Michael Scott.
12. You finally find a job, but then they want you to fax in all your information to begin the month-long hiring process.
Even though searching for your career can be a painful and long process, just remember:
