In this day and age, it is so easy to become consumed with the negatives of life. We become so focused on what is going wrong in our lives that we become blind to the goodness and positivity around us. Personally, I think this is especially true for students in college. We are so worried and stressed about being the absolute best at everything we do that we begin to have this negative outlook on our lives when in reality, we have so much to be thankful for and so much to look forward to.
There truly is goodness in every day. Every morning when we wake up, we are blessed because no one is guaranteed a tomorrow. Therefore, every morning we wake up, there is goodness in that day. When we step outside and feel the sun on our skin or get in our cars and hear our favorite song on the radio, those are good moments in our day. We have the opportunity to feel the sunshine, drive a car, and listen to the radio.
When we are sitting in class, even though it may not feel like it, there is goodness in that day. We have the opportunity to sit in a college classroom and earn our degrees, which is something many people cannot do. Even when you are sitting in that classroom worrying about your grades, GPA, or a test, there is goodness in that day. You are working tirelessly to be the best that you can be and you shouldn't let the negatives take away from that.
Life is too short to worry about the negatives. Whenever you are feeling beaten down or life is really getting to you, take a second to just stop and put things into perspective. Think about all of the things you have and all of the things you are able to do and know that those things bring some goodness into every day.
Take time to understand that maybe not every day is good, but there is goodness in every day.
