How To Find 'The One' For You

Relationships are hard to come by in modern times, but how can you come to terms with yourself to find the match.

How do you know that you've found 'The One'? Getting to know someone and dating them isn't what it used to be compared to years ago, so how can you be sure that this person is the right one for you?

First off, dating requires a lot of time. Seeing each other, spending time together, actually going out on dates - it all requires time - time that a lot of people aren't interested in putting forth to someone who they may not know very well.

In the college setting, dating is a lot harder. Classes, greek life, sports, a job, and other extracurriculars take up nearly 100% of your time, so how can you find time to fit a functioning relationship in there?

Next, dating requires a lot of effort. You already have your jam-packed schedule with little time for someone else, but now you have to put forth the effort. Effort differs between taking the time to see them, to planning thought-out dates, and so on. The amount of effort you put in almost always directly correlates with how the relationship goes.

If you don't put forth the time and effort, how will you be able to continue this newly found heart-fluttering venture? If you can't find the time to dedicate to the one, how are you going to make it work? If you can't put forth the effort, how is it going to work out?

It's not about what you can or can't do, it's all about the other half, the other person. The person you're engaging in the relationship with has to understand what's going on with you, and you have to understand their life too. It's cliche, but relationships are two-way streets.

Relationships are hairy situations to be dealing with when there's a lot on your plate, but I've found that finding someone who can help you through and understands what you're going through is best. Emotions can't be bottled up forever, and you'll reach a breaking point. Without that special person to talk everything out with, how will you react when you reach the breaking point?

You have to trust them to help you, be there for you, and be 'The One' for you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
