Why You Should Find A Heart Friend

They are the sweetest of friendships.

Why You Should Find A Heart Friend

A heart friend.

I have a couple of those.

They're the friend who just gets you. The one who can listen to you ramble on and on for hours genuinely interested in the stories you've already repeated. You can share your opinions, dreams, and fears with them and they understand with the surest sincerity.

They're the friend you laugh with for hours. Uncontrollable giggling leaves both of you holding your stomachs and gasping for air. Your humor is shared in GIFs no one else finds funny. You can be your silliest self with them because they find your cheesy jokes hilarious.

They're the friend you can be silent with. In long car rides, neither of you feel the need to fill the empty air with unnecessary words. You can comfortably listen to music, stare out the window, and think with them by your side. Not every moment has to be used talking. You're comfortable with simply their presence, just being with them.

They're the friend who has walked with you through your most painful times. They have seen you face all the emotions ranging from fear to disappointment to bitterness to anger. And they have loved you through it. They bring you a jar of peanut butter and a spoon to cheer you up. They write you notes of encouragement - simple reminders that they will always be there for you. They listen to you vent and cry. And they rejoice with you in the small victories - the ones that may seem pointless to anyone else. They look back with you now and smile at how far you've come.

They're the friend you can call without texting first to see if they aren't busy. You know they'll pick up, or at least call you right back. You can talk on the phone for what seems like hours. And somehow your conversations always wind up deep and vulnerable.

They're the friend you know you'll have for life. No matter the seasons, changes, hardships, and successes they're the friend who will stick with you through it all.

Find a heart friend. A friend who leaves your soul refreshed after spending a weekend together. A friend you can be your complete self with and boldly share your deepest thoughts. A friend who unashamedly challenges you, faithfully supports you, and selflessly loves you. A friend who isn't afraid to ask the hard questions and intently listen to your answers. A friend whose heart is sweetly in tune with yours. Find one. They're worth it.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
