What do Stone Cold Steve Austin, the WWF’s Attitude Era, poverty, Joe Lieberman, Barry Bonds, cheating, performance-enhancing drugs, trash television, and being ‘bitterly ‘disappointed’ have in common?
They are all included in the Finals Week “Trav-isms©.”
Linda McMahon: Cabinet Member?
On December 7th, President-elect Donald Trump picked Linda McMahon to be the Head of Small Business Administration. I guess this makes sense; the wife of former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has seen the makings of what low-rent, carnie-like, staged entertainment appears as. This isn't anything new to this lady, who will serve as the entrepreneurial symbol for the same ‘business’ she co-founded with her husband. Linda, might I remind you of what your current boss did to your husband in one of your business's premier events? This would only be appealing to those that supported their deity, the “silent majority’ that followed said deity to rallies featuring crowds rivaled only by the crowds you’d see on Jerry Springer’s and Maury’s stages on daytime TV. The same sycophants that believe, along with him, that the election was rigged EVEN THOUGH HE WON!
These two go hand-in-hand with each other; both were participants in staged events. At least the McMahon family admits to staged entertainment that BENEFITS THEM.
She is on record from CNN as saying: “Once you’re his friend, he is loyal to the end.”
I’m not too sure about that: some of that same “silent majority” is questioning his loyalty right now to them. I’m sure all of them want to do to him what your husband’s biggest rival at the peak of your business’s enterprise did to your husband several times
Bernie Exposes Corruption…No, Not That Kind
Many of the Bernie Sanders supporters were ‘bitterly disappointed’ (Jim Harbaugh™) to find out that their boy did not win the nomination during the primary season. The bitter pill to swallow became even harder to swallow when ‘alleged hacks into the DNC’ compromised the representative from Vermont’s legitimate chance to win.
Further cementing the legacy as the politician that cannot be bought and sold, he was apart of the congressional committee in 2005 that began to open the lid on steroid use in MLB. Bud Selig pled ignorance to all the happenings of banned substance use. The former commissioner of MLB during the tainted era was grilled by Bernie by peppering him with a line of questions that will serve as the blueprint for how the newly elected member of the Hall of Fame will be asked in Cooperstown.
The questioning in that infamous congressional committee came to a boil when Sanders mentioned a piece in the Los Angeles Times in 1995 that reported anabolic steroids being passed around like candy during the 1990’s. Bud, pulling his best Sean Payton impression, said he was not aware of such dealings happening in his league.
Yeah, and I’m pretty sure Matthew B. Platt clarified what ‘etc.’ meant on some government exams…
The fact that the TOP BOSS in a sports league that was littered with athletes, regardless of usage of illegal substances, can plead ignorance and still get in the Hall before some players in question of using said drugs is totally farcical.
“Just because somebody is not aware of something going on, doesn't mean that it is not happening.”
