The 7 Stages Of Finals Week

We've all experienced it

Finals week is something you start stressing about when your professor announces it during syllabus week. Some start studying the first day of class, others pretend they don't exist so they will go away. No matter how you deal with it the stages are going to be something like this...

1. Development Stage

This stage is where you are at your best. You have never felt more confident about all your essays, projects, and tests all year. You break out those highlighters and pens that you've never opened and you start highlighting and writing everything. Basically-- Finals are your b***h

2. "What" Stage

This stage is where you constantly ask yourself "wtf?" Your once motivated attitude changed into "what". Your highlighter made ink bleed, math problems look like the matrix, and you honestly have lost all organization and motivation. Wait, what subject are you supposed to be studying?

3. "Why is this my major again?" Stage

This stage your staring at your computer and you constantly think "Why is this my major again?" You get back those test and projects you thought you did sooo well on, only to find out your professor didn't agree with you. You are also in distraught about life at the moment.

4. "I'm just going to drop out"

If we are being completely honest I have this stage at least 3 times in one day, even when it's not finals week. But this stage is completely normal, and it goes hand in hand with stage 3. Your new search for the week will be "Jobs that don't require a degree"

5. Second Wave Stage

This is the stage where you look at all your school supplies you dug out for stage one and realize that you can do this... You put on that "motivational" playlist you used at the gym in the start of the new year and you are unstoppable.

6. Grind Stage

The stage where you finally stopped crying and put yourself together to go the library...Now its time to throw that phone in your backpack and start studying for those finals.

7. Acceptance Stage

This is the stage where you realize no matter how much you avoid it, finals are still a thing. And after all... You don't have to check your grades...

Happy Finals!!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
