April showers bring May flowers but also Finals Week. And the thing about Finals Week is that it's literally as it sounds, it wraps up the semester which sounds more exciting than it should be. When the semester ends that also means one week of studying, sleep deprivation, and cumulative exams. But there is one thing about Finals Week that is often overlooked, and that's the tongue-in-cheek outfits students end up wearing.

Due to unpredictable weather, lack of caffeine, and presentations; dressing for a long day on campus can be quite difficult. Through intensive research and personal field studies, I was able to compile the Spring 2017 Finals Week Lookbook.

"Goth Girl Meets Boyfriend's Shorts"

Baggy shorts, a universal staple of college students everywhere, paired with a bleach top stays true to alternative roots. The elastic waist Fallujah shorts are the carefree base for this outfit, but flouncy blouse makes it selfie-worthy. Unsuspecting Instagrammers would never know you are dressed in the clothing of your significant other. Hawaiian Atwood Vans pay homage to the margaritas you will be chugging after this final.

"Opposite Day"

Everything looks the same in the morning. The decaf looks just like regular, and shoes are no different. The straight laces on these Vans allow them to be slipped on so easily you don't even realize you're putting on the wrong ones! Want to make a louder statement? Avoid shaving your legs for three days.

"Natural Art Student"

The perfect Spring accessory is a bright, chunky knit hat. Their versatility allows them to cover messy hair and combat against the wind. For added detail roll around in the Quad and collect nature's homemade art. Want to support your art friends? Try a homemade beanie as opposed to a store bought one.

"Collage or College?"

The unpredictable Mid-West weather can be a huge dilemma in the early Spring. It's cold in the morning and a sauna in the the afternoon! What!? Layers are this season's hottest trend, literally. Flannel pants can be worn under a floral dress and topped with a kimono. All pieces can be removed to be reveal an entirely different outfit! If you want to pretend you're still wrapped in blankets, you can can add a wrap-around cloak. Mixing prints that make no sense can lighten up a mood and earn you some stares.

"Power Blazer"

There is nothing more frustrating than a presentation. Actually, there is. How about a Finals Week Presentation. Let's admit it, there is no way we are dressing up for a five-minute presentation. Throw a thrift store blazer over your leggings and favorite old t-shirt, no one will ever know!

There is no getting around the fact that Finals Week is the worst. Even though it's a time of cramming knowledge into your brain and hoping you don't fail a class that you're passing, it's time to make memories. Yeah, wearing two different to shoes on accident is super embarrassing but one day; you will laugh. It might be 10 years from now but you will laugh. Finals Week is the last week of the school year, so don't stress out about a class that no one will remember. Enjoy the time with your friends because someday you will miss it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
