Finals Suck And There Is Nothing You Can Do About It.

Finals week. The most dreadful time of the semester. It doesn’t matter if you are a freshman or a senior, finals week is terrible. Sometimes you will have professors that will let you use notes, but for the most part your finals suck!

I’m not going to write about how to survive finals, or helpful study tips. Instead, I am going to just rant about how terrible they can be. So, if you have clicked on this to learn how to survive then just click off this now, because that’s not what your going to get.

Finals are the make or break. If you don’t get a certain grade on the final, then you aren’t going to get the grade you want in the class. In my two years of college I have learned that all of the procrastinating I have done all semester has led me to this point of panic, anxiety, and awkward conversations with my professors asking what I can do to get a passing grade.

We all tell ourselves at the beginning of the semester that we won’t procrastinate and we will get an "A" in a difficult class, but then we end up going to Taco Bell at midnight instead of studying for said class.

You can deny it all you want, but you know it’s true. Unless you are a hermit that never comes out of your dorm, then you know that you procrastinate. Even if you never leave your dorm you will still be distracted by the Internet (that’s why you’re reading this article instead of studying).

Speaking of procrastinating, I should really stop writing this article now, because I have to study for my psychology final. So, have a great finals week you studious students and remember that finals suck, but it’s only a week of your life.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
