4 Ways To Live A Good Life

The time has come. This is the last article I am going to write for the Odyssey, and I am pretty sad about it. I am not flooding the computer keyboard with tears of desperation yet, but I am pretty close. Working as a content creator has been an enriching, fun experience that has allowed me to grow as a writer and to freely express my sassy humor and my not-so-secret love for food. I loved writing articles using gifs and I am pretty sure I laughed more when I had to choose them than my readers did.

Anyway, I want to thank everyone for their support and leave you with four last thoughts to keep in mind:

1. Pursue your passion.

"If you do what you love, the way will always open." – Humans of New York

Gardening, singing, dancing, acting, writing, building sand castles, collecting weird objects... it doesn't really matter what it is as long as you get butterflies in your stomach and it gives you a sense of purpose. Follow for your dreams and don't let anything or anyone get in your way.

2. Surround yourself with people who support you no matter what.

"Surround yourself with people who are only going to lift you higher."

Life can be rough sometimes, but friends and family make it better. With the new year is time to remove toxic people out of your life and keep those that encourage you to be a better person.

3. Take care of yourself.

"Eat well, laugh often, love much."

When I go to Eataly ( an amazing restaurant where you can taste the best of the authentic Italian cuisine), I always see this sign: "Life is too short not to eat well." So, go ahead, order another taco, get two more donuts and eat THAT ENTIRE PIZZA; you live only once so you'd better enjoy it! Just remember to go to the gym once in a blue moon (just to be safe, maybe go more than that), and to not take life too seriously. Happiness is contagious, your smile could brighten someone's else day.

4. Be adventurous and embrace change.

"Fill your life with adventures, not things. Have stories to tell, not stuff to show."

Get out of your comfort zone and be bold. Go visit that country, city, place you have always wanted to see. Go try that Thai restaurant you have never had the guts to walk in. Do that road trip with your college friends you have always dreamed to do. Take a chance and do not look back. I did it and it was the best decision of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
