Being A Film Major Forever Changed The Way I Watch Films

" It's the colors that bounce off of each edge of the screen and the dialogue that makes one react a certain way. All of these elements are executed by the directors and writers to let a person get a glimpse into what they are thinking and how they are perceiving the world around them."

As I began my journey as a film major just about a year ago I had no idea that my perception of the world would change. When my large lecture class began watching screenings of older movies that almost made us fall asleep, we began to watch one's that would change our perspectives on everything. It was the simple glimpse into the well known film "ET" that would change my view on life and how important it is to stand up for what you believe in and constantly remind people how much you care about them. The symbolization of the flower dying and coming back to life made me remember that everything is temporary and the world is constantly changing. That was one of the first things that allowed my creativity to flourish into what it is now.

The "Wizard Of Oz" was the next film that we watched and as it began, I was dreading the fact that I would have to sit for a few hours and watch something that I've seen various times. But as the movie started I felt myself appreciating the color, audio, sound, as well as the use of widescreen. These were things that I could have never imagined myself even caring about a year ago. This was the sign of change within the century which made everyone within that time frame so excited for what was to come. It was a time of change and innovations that would eventually become the outstanding special effects that we see now in theaters around the world.

These films that many people have seen time and time again have changed my perception of everything within the industry. It's these pieces that have changed the way that the world views life and everything in-between. It's the colors that bounce off of each edge of the screen and the dialogue that makes one react a certain way. All of these elements are executed by the directors and writers to let a person get a glimpse into what they are thinking and how they are perceiving the world around them.

Personally, I feel that it's such a fascinating thing to be able to immerse yourself in an environment that someone else has created for you. The movie "Avatar" introduced us to this world that looks absolutely nothing like ours but holds the same values and history as ours. "Avatar" is personally one of my favorite films as it shows the progression of our animators and technology within this generation as well as introducing a new story to the world. These stories allow a lesson to be learned and a sense of comfort within our own being.

The remarkable thing about film is that it's constantly changing during time based on where we are in the world and the change that we want to see around us. Anyone can pick up a camera and film which is the magic of our century. Also, everyone is entitled to have their own perspective based on how they view something or capture a moment.

"Every age has its storytelling form, and video gaming is a huge part of our culture. You can ignore or embrace video games and imbue them with the best artistic quality. People are enthralled with video games in the same way as other people love the cinema or theatre."

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
