There are no shortage of men in fiction who have qualities that every woman looks for in a man. If you are both a woman and a reader, you know how frustrating it is when you are reading and you come across such a man. You wish he was real, but, alas, he is fiction. Below are five of fiction's most eligible bachelors.

1. Fitzwilliam Darcy

Jane Austen's most beloved hero, Fitzwilliam Darcy, is by no means perfect. He does, however, possess the ability to learn from his mistakes and to admit when he is wrong, however, which makes him pretty close to perfection.

2. John Thornton

Like Darcy, Elizabeth Gaskell's John Thornton learns and admits when he is wrong. He is also passionate about what he believes, though, and would do anything for those he loves.

3. Theodore Lawrence

Affectionately known as Laurie, Louisa May Alcott's Theodore Lawrence is a fun-loving but ultimately hard-working individual who will always have your back no matter what.

4. Peeta Mellark

Loyal, serious-minded and determined, Suzanne Collins' Peeta Mellark is everything you have ever wanted.

5. George Knightley

Last but certainly not least, Austen's George Knightley is responsible and loyal, and possesses a wonderful sense of humor as well. There is never a dull moment with the gentlemanly Mr. Knightley.

There are plenty more fictional men to love in the world of literature, and the only way to meet them is to pick up a book and read. You will not be sorry, and you might even gain a bit of wisdom and respect for all things literature!

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
