I couldn't believe I listened to this... stranger who claimed to be my brother. It took some time for me to trust him, but our secret meetings proved him right. After months of him sneaking into my room when my mom went shopping, I had learned about my powers. Who knew my mom never letting me leave the house would pay off? Who knew my mom never letting me leave the house was because I had superpowers? They only worked at their fullest when I was with my Jeremiah though.

From our experimentation, it turns out that even though twins are supposed to have the exact same genetic make-up, we still possessed different powers. Maybe it was because he had more time to try out his powers. We both had telekinesis, but he could also rewind time. Not by a lot, just a few minutes, but still impressive.

"Ever since we started hanging out I've felt different," he told me one day.

"Like you have finally met your long-lost sister?"

He chuckled, "Yeah, but more than that. Like I'm a different person. Like something has been added to me." I could see him struggling for words.

I placed my hand I on his shoulder, "I know what you mean."

I would have continued trying the explain the strange tangle of electricity I felt in my head, buzzing that got louder the closer we got, but my mom opened the door,

"What are you doing here?" We both jumped at the boom of her voice, "I told your father-"

"I know, but he thinks-"

"I've heard his claims! You shouldn't be here." Her eyes shifted between Jeremiah and me. "Hurry up and leave, it might already be too late."

"Too late?" I asked. If someone was heading here, I felt like my mom wouldn't be ushering Jeremiah out of the house, but packing herself so we all could escape.

"Can't we talk about this? There's so much left to explain and to discover."

"There's no time," she insisted shaking her head, "Not just for your sake, but..." She trailed off.

"Is there more you're not telling us?" I asked, but before she could reply there was harsh banging at the door.

"That must be your father." My mom said as she rushed out of the room.

Jeremiah pulled me to face him, "We don't have much time and I want to show you something."

"What is it?" I asked.

"I'm not quite sure, but every time I try the world goes dark."

"Try what?" He took his arms from my shoulders and focused his eyes on me. At first his staring was weird, but a few second later the buzzing in my head grew louder than it ever was before and I could see his eyes being to glow purple. Then I saw it, the same image I saw thirteen years ago. A skull with glowing eyes, but this time they were purple.

Before I could get out one of the millions of questions that were swirling around my head my mom came back with a man, I'm guessing Jeremiah's, no, our, dad. The fear on their faces made me think they saw what I just did, but then I realized something far worse was going on.

"You two must run. Get as far away from here before everything is gone."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean everything! The whole world as we know it will disappear if you do not leave now!"

I would have protested but then I heard heavy feet coming down the hall. "They're here! Go quickly out the window." My mom whispered urgently to us.

Without a second thought, we climbed out the window and on to the fire escape.

I led the way down the rusted stairway to the alley beside the apartment complex. I began running towards the street when I heard a scream. I spun around to see my sister starring down the ally. At first, I didn't see it, but then my eye focused on a hooded figure in the shadows. It took one step towards us and we bolted down the street.

I didn't look back once and only knew my sister was following me when she yelled, "Hide in the crowd!" We quickly blended into the business of the city life around us. I didn't have a chance to feel relieved when I noticed more people in cloaks intertwined with the regular pedestrians. I grabbed my sister's hand and tore through the crowd trying to hide.

I turned to corner and the world went silent. There were no people, no cars, not even a bug. I looked back where we came from which was now empty. The whole city seemed to go quiet.

"What is going on?" She asked me.

"I don't know." I could hear footsteps approaching, but not quite sure from what direction.

"We have to get out of the open. Come on." I followed her into the back of a nearby building. We ran down the hallway, but then my sister seemed to slow down. I didn't know why until I almost ran right into more people in hooded robes.

I tried to turn around and run but they grabbed me from behind and started pulling me down the hall. I was so afraid I couldn't even scream, only opening my mouth, hoping for words to escape. That last image I saw was my sister running in the opposite direction, "You have to rewind back time!" She called back," It's the only way to save you!"

Then everything went black.

I felt bad for leaving Jeremiah behind, but putting up a fight would have been futile. It was weird. Right before Jeremiah was captured I had a strange sense of Deja Vu, like I like through this all before, but this time something was slightly different. It was like I had dreamed all of this happening and new those people were in the building, but was able to get the both of us out in time. This feeling gave me hope that Jeremiah would pull back time. I only need a few minutes. Just a few minutes.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
