Yes, It's Blatantly Obvious Humans NEED To Expand Into Space

This project has waited long enough, and it is time to act on it before our world falls apart at our feet.

As most people have heard on the news, Earth is getting increasingly populated, and many other factors are speeding up the process of moving away from Earth. The population of human beings officially hit seven billion almost a year ago, and that is only adding to why this project needs to be done. Here are a few reasons why we must expand our population into space and beyond.

1. Resources

One of the main topics that is brought up is the amount of resources we are using and the way we are using them. Fossil fuels are running out and many people are already starting to convert to solar energy. A main reason why resources are running out fast is that "resources have been worn away because of people’s greed." Resources are getting limited to the point where people in many locations of the world are fighting for food, water and shelter.

2. Population

As this topic was briefly talked about at the top of the article, our population has soared over 6.5 billion people and officially reached seven billion people. "In 1950, the world had 2.5 billion people; and in 2005, the world had 6.5 billion people. By 2050, this number could rise to more than 9 billion." This goes to show that the population is rising faster and faster each year. As more humans dominate this world, the more waste is being produced. This waste can lead to land pollution which kills the surrounding habitat and animals living in it.

3. Global Warming

This is probably the most important one on this list, as global warming is melting ice caps which hold our fresh water. In fact, there is a big ozone hole in the stratosphere right over Antarctica. This hole was formed because of CFC's, or Chlorofluorocarbons. CFC's "are highly stable compounds that were used as propellants in spray cans and in refrigeration units. They are several organic compounds composed of carbon, fluorine, chlorine, and hydrogen." Although CFCs caused massive amounts of damage to the atmosphere, they are not the only suspects of destroying the atmosphere. Humans usage in bad amounts of coal and gasoline are two of many leading problems causing the slow death of Earth's shield.

Space expansion is require in the very near future and it is inevitable. Humans will eventually take over the maximum capacity that this planet can hold and by then, it will be too late to move. Big companies are SpaceX are preparing for this big advancement by planning to send people to Mars around the year 2020. If we do not act fast enough, our planet will be in shambles before we know it.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
