Rihanna's new makeup line, Fenty Beauty, has transformed the world of makeup in more than one way. Her entire line is centered around the slogan "Beauty For All." Not only has she exceeded everyone's expectations with 40+ shades for makeup lovers of all colors, but she has centered her marketing campaign all about inclusivity and acceptance.
The makeup line released on September 5th has garnered attention from beauty gurus and makeup lovers worldwide. In addition to the impressive variety of shades and tones represented in the line, Rihanna's ad campaigns have seen a diverse group of models; she has included many different demographics of people, from hijab-wearing women like Halima Aden to Camila Costa, a model originating from Brazil.
The mainstream media is definitely not the only place where women of color and other minorities are poorly represented. Unfortunately, the makeup industry has succumbed to the same amount of misrepresentation. More often than not, brands tend to promote fair skinned, blue eyed, blonde haired models. This semi-standard image blatantly ignores the overwhelming majority of women who do not fit into this category.
And that is where the beauty revolution comes in...Rihanna's diverse panel of models promotes a healthy, confident boosting image for women, showing them that they are important and valued, no matter what their background or skin color may be. Fenty Beauty is making a blatant statement to our society, showing that diversity and differences will be celebrated rather than hidden and ignored.
To show her dedication to this idea, Rihanna said, "There needs to be something for a dark-skinned girl, there needs to be something for a pale girl, there needs to be something for everyone in between. There are so many different shades and undertones."

As a young adult growing up in today's society, it has been extremely refreshing to see such an admirable, strong woman advocate for others. Some may say that Rihanna simply cannot be an inspiration for creating a makeup line, but I would disagree. Her intentions for making an all-inclusive makeup brand centered around diversity, acceptance, and inclusion is something that I will always support.
