I'm A Female And Not With Her

My gender doesn't determine my feelings about Hillary Clinton

I'm A Female And Not With Her
NY Post

I turned 18 a week after the 2012 election, so this is the first time I’m getting to vote for the President of the United States. I always imagined this being a pretty exciting time for myself since politics has been a talking point at the family dinner table since I was young. I figured I’d be buying some “*insert name here* for President 2016” dad hat, wearing it around and casually debating with my friends about why this candidate was the answer to America’s problems.

Well, here we are— less than a month away from the election with little to no excitement on my half. Hillary Clinton vs. Donald Trump, a man with no political experience, countless failed businesses, the maturity of a 13-year-old boy and an unfiltered mouth. Hillary Clinton is going up against someone who should be one of the most beatable candidates in the history of presidential elections, but instead she’s actually struggling.

The only logical answer for how someone who’s dedicated her whole life to politics is actually struggling to win this election is simple— she’s not a great candidate either.

I’m so over hearing about how as a female I should love Hillary Clinton. Because I’m a female?

Because I’m a female I’m supposed to forget about her ignoring multiple sexual assault claims against her husband?

Because I’m female I’m supposed to support her calling Monica Lewinsky a “narcissistic loony toon” instead of holding her cheating husband accountable?

Because I’m female I’m supposed to forget that she helped a child rapist get a plea bargain and later laughed about it?

Because I’m female I’m supposed to ignore the fact that she can’t stand firm on any political stances from same-sex marriage to immigration?

Because I’m female I’m supposed to brush off that fact that she chose to send confidential information via a personal email?

Because I’m a female I’m supposed to forget about the compulsive and pointless lies she tells, like landing “under sniper fire” in Bosnia.

Because I’m female I’m supposed to forget that the Clinton Foundation accepts millions in donations from countries that approve assault on women and murder homosexuals?

Because I’m a female I’m supposed to be ok with her incompetence and blatant deceptiveness that ended with four Americans murdered in Benghazi?

No. Because I’m female I will not use her gender as a reason for why she is unfit to be the President of the United States. But that is the only thing my gender has to do with Hillary Clinton running for president.

Just because I’m female doesn't mean I’m with her.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
